Housing
Housing, in one form or another, is almost always part of the expatriate package. In some countries or on very big projects 'project housing' is often available and you can get a house or apartment there depending on the size of your family.

In cases you are coming to a civilised and urbanised location housing is usually available on the local market. Sometimes companies will have deals with certain apartment complexes but often you will be able to shop for yourself, within a budget off course.

Be sure to check if the place you get assigned or are going to rent is furnished or unfurnished (and to what degree) and if you have a budget for transporting your belongings or buying furniture.

It will probably take you a little while to find a place and it also takes time for your belongings to arrive, if shipped. During the first weeks, or even months, you therefore may end up in a hotel or serviced apartment. These will likely be more expensive than your house so make sure you have a clear agreement on the cost during this period.
