Even if you know only one person, expanding your network of friends in Singapore is much easier because of introductions to his/her friends, being invited to his/her friend's parties etc. But how do you find that first person?

Another problem appears to be that a successful professional woman (of any race) is, rightly or wrongly, considered more 'high maintenance' and more (too) direct. This all does off course not mean dating for you is a lost cause but it may be a bit harder than 'back home'.
